Intrauterine devices (IUD) are commonly used contaceptive device in reproductive aged women. Despite its effectiveness, pregnancy may occur with IUD. Pregnancies with IUD in situ are associated with poor outcomes. It is important to examine IUD location after the delivery. Various locations have been reported such as the urinary bladder, fallopian tube and bowels etc. However, reports on placental location with an on going pregnancy are very limited in the literature. Here is the presentation of two pregnancies with IUD embedded to the placenta. Two women admitted to our outpatient clinic pregnancy with IUD. The patients were counselled on the risks of IUD with pregnancy and recommended for their removal but were declined by both. First woman delivered at 36 weeks of her gestation and the other one at 39th week. No adverse pregnancy outcomes were recorded after delivery. The IUDs were found on the maternal side of placenta at both patients. Placenta should be examined in details after delivery in the pregnancy with IUD.
